Last night I had a dream about my best friend,
He was fighting in a War.
He wore metal on his chest and held himself proud,
He knew what all this was for.
When the time came for his army to fight my army,
I was terrible afraid.
I rode over to his barracks to reason will with him.
We began to debate.
Last night I had a dream about my muscles,
They were fighting with my skin.
I drew pebbles from their lips and closed their eyelids,
pushed their edges back within.
When the time came for my memory to reconnect me,
I was lying here in bed.
I rolled over on my shoulder to rearrange me.
Ah! You were ringing in my head.
"Why should we fight when you're my only friend?"
"Why should we die when we'll never live again?"
